Bill Yeates: Historical Photography and Avocational Archeologist

1938 - 2022

William “Bill” Yeates, age 84 of San Angelo, TX passed away on December 6, 2022. Bill was born in Gibsonville, TX to Paul and Leona Yeates. Bill graduated from Lufkin High School in 1956 and received a BS in Mathematics from the University of Houston after serving in the Air Force from 1956 – 1960. He worked as a Geophysicist in Houston, TX for many years. He married Barbara, the love of his life, in Houston, TX. Bill had many interests which included astronomy, archaeology, photography and as well as being a pilot. He attained the rank of Lt. Col. in the Civil Air Patrol. He was a long time member of the Concho Valley Archaeology Society, the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the Concho Valley Photo Club. Bill was also the author of several books on Archaeo-Astronomy, Archaeology, History, and Aviation.
